ONE STEP AT A TIME

Your Path Forward

From Uncertainty to Clarity

You don’t need every answer to begin. Here’s how we can move forward together.

  1. BEGIN THE CONVERSATION

    Initial contact

Call, schedule online, or send an inquiry. Share a brief overview of what brings you here, and let us know about any upcoming dates or deadlines.

You don’t need every answer to take the first step.

  2. MAKE ROOM FOR UNDERSTANDING

    Your initial consultation

Talk through your concerns, priorities, and questions. We’ll discuss your circumstances and possible next steps, in person or via Zoom.

Bring a short outline of your concerns and the questions you want to ask.

  3. KNOW WHERE YOU STAND

    Engagement & clarity

Review the retainer agreement, scope of representation, fees, and financial arrangements. Ask questions so you understand the terms before moving forward.

Representation begins when the firm confirms engagement under the agreed terms—not simply by contacting us.

  4. MOVE FORWARD WITH PURPOSE

    Build your strategy

Once engaged, we take a deeper look at your matter, develop a strategy, and gather and organize relevant evidence. We use technology to support preparation, collaboration, and clear communication.

A thoughtful plan, shaped around your priorities and the needs of your matter.

Every matter is different. These steps describe our typical process; timing and next steps depend on your circumstances.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Questions on your mind?

A few helpful answers as you consider your next step.

What does a Pennsylvania custody case address?

Parenting questions are deeply personal. Families may need to establish a first custody arrangement, revise a schedule that no longer fits a child’s needs, or address an urgent safety concern. Clear legal information can help distinguish the decisions that need attention without predicting a result.

Pennsylvania custody law addresses both responsibility for important decisions and the time a child spends in a person’s care. The court’s focus is the child’s best interests, including the safety considerations required by current law. The relevant facts, existing orders, and the court’s jurisdiction shape the available options.

What is equitable distribution?

Dividing property after a marriage requires more than listing account balances. Pennsylvania equitable distribution examines marital property, value, and the statutory factors that guide a fair allocation.

What is the difference between legal and physical custody?

Legal custody concerns the right to make major decisions for a child, including medical, educational, and religious decisions. Physical custody concerns the actual physical possession and control of a child. A schedule and a decision-making arrangement answer different questions.

What property and debts should I identify?

Start with an inventory of real estate, financial accounts, retirement benefits, business interests, and liabilities. Pennsylvania law defines marital property and identifies exclusions; increases in value of certain nonmarital property can also matter. The name on an account or deed does not resolve every issue.
